The DHAMUN club

Message From PGA

Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations in which students pose as ambassadors from various countries and strive to address global issues and international affairs via debate and negotiation. Dhahran Model United Nations is the infamous MUN organization in the American School of Dhahran. Over the course of 17 years, the DHAMUN Executive team has gradually transformed the MUN club into what is currently the school's largest club with over 110 delegates. The highly experienced Officers of the General Assembly organize weekly club meetings with the purpose of improving students' understanding of how to cope with political issues throughout the world and create viable solutions. Members have hands-on abilities to improve their public speaking skills in a friendly and welcoming environment. Moreover, we host one of the largest conferences in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia each year. Students from all around the world come together to learn and build a variety of enduring qualities. Through opening speeches, unmoderated caucuses, resolution drafting, and resolution debating, we strive to provide delegates with a better understanding of the difficulties that many people experience in the real world and how to solve them at a young age. Selected chairs lead the delegates through committee hearings, assisting and pointing them in the direction of a more productive discussion. We encourage students to work cooperatively to identify workable solutions to the problems at hand, as it fosters the development of teamwork, problem-solving, public speaking, and research skills. Through committee-building fun activities such as icebreakers, gossip boxes, and punishments, we seek to establish a convivial climate in which all delegates feel at ease. Through this, we aim that every delegate feels satisfied with their performance and excited for the next year's DHAMUN. In the past and in the future, DHAMUN has consistently pushed its participants to advance their knowledge. A conference where they will gain new acquaintances, strengthen their skills, and make lifelong memories.

Eshan Bokhari

President of the General Assembly
